8 DAYS BWINDI GORILLA TREK UGANDA -
UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARIS MURCHISON FALLS,QUEEN,LAKE MBURO NP

Eight Days: Murchison / Queen / Bwindi / Mburo


Day 1: The marvelous Murchison Falls NP
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Kms. Relax a bit at a situated site on the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty, and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through an 8 meter canyon. The 43 meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best thing to ever happen to the Nile. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chilli Rest Camp.


Day 2: The boat cruise on the river Nile
Early breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive in the park where you will be able to see elephants, lions, cape buffalos, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and, if lucky enough, leopards. After lunch, take a boat ride on the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just ten meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” There you can check out the hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. Some bird watching can also be done and you are most likely to see bird species like the goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hombills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Return to Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chilli Rest Camp for dinner and overnight.


Day 3: Fort Portal at the foothills of the Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast drive from Murchison Falls towards Queen Elizabeth via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley with packed lunch. Drive through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro kindgom, passing though verdant countryside, tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You arrive at the colorful and pretty town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” (Rwenzori). Dinner and overnight at Fort Motel or Nynabulitwa Crater Resort . FB  


Day 4: Game drive
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth after a cup of coffee arriving in time for lunch, an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise may reward you with game like hippos, buffaloes, and plenty of water birds.After the cruise go for an evening game drive where you should look forward to see animals like Elephants, leopards, jackals, Uganda kob, bush pigs, bushbucks, not forgetting the King of the Jungle-The Lion- and others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 5: Chimpanzee safaris & Primate Trek safaris
Have breakfast and drive to the Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trek safaris . You may be able to see other primates like the colobus monkey, Mangabeys and others. After you will transfer to the Maramagambo forest where you will have a picnic lunch and a forest walk. The forest walk will involve a visit to the bat caves where you may see the pythons feeding at the bats, the blue river and some birds. Drive to Bwindi, Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.

Day 6: Gorilla Trek uganda safaris in Bwindi
Be ready to have a blast of a life because today we are heading to Bwindi impenetrable for the famous Gorilla tracking expedition. Briefing at the park headquarters before embarking on the big search of the Great apes. The time you will take tracking or trekking these humble apes is unpredictable however it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks climbing up and down making it tiresome but adventurous, however the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.

Day 7: Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning you may go for a forest walk or community walk after breakfast. Later on you will drive back towards Kampala and make an over night stop at Lake Mburo National park. Lake Mburo one of the smallest Savannah parks with the highest concentration of herbivores, among these are antelopes including the impala from which the name of the capital city of Uganda -Kampala- was derived. You will reach in the afternoon to have lunch and then in the afternoon go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. This ride may reward you with view of the aquatic animals like Hippos, Crocodile and birds at the shores. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp. / Rwonyo camp.


Day 8: Game Drive
Wake up in time for an early morning Game drive which may reward you with a view of Impalas, Zebras, Elands, Topies, water and Bush bucks, Buffaloes, Bush Pigs and other game. Slowly drive back to Kampala with one last stop at the equator for refreshments, pictures and souvenir shopping.
