Bwindi Gorilla Forest

Day 1: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park
Early departure from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.  This is the closest Savannah reserve to Kampala. It is centred on a series of swamp- fringed lakes known for their rich birdlife.  You will have a stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, stand at the Equator for a photographic opportunity and an informative presentation. Drive to the park reaching in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo to see animals such as Hippos, Buffaloes and bird life then evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented camp or Rwonyo camp.

Day Two: Game drive
Wake up early in the morning for a game drive through the park. After breakfast take a guided nature walk to the Salt lick area where you will be able to see at least three different animal species licking the salty rocks. In the afternoon take on a canoe trip on Lake Mburo where you will see different animals at the lake shores as well as water birds.

Day 3: Bwindi Cultural Tour
After an early breakfast depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest located in the south western part of Uganda. After having lunch, visit the local communities to have an experience of their lifestyles and culture or take a nature walk in the forest or relax at the lodge. Overnight at Engagi Lodge/ Buhoma Homestead/ Bwindi View Bandas.

Day 4: Gorilla Safaris to Uganda
Gorilla Tracking is a captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi and to trek through the forest. After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters where the ranger guides will brief you before entering the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of the tropical rain forest is spectacular. The thrill of spending time looking in the deep blue eyes of these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome adventure, exciting and unforgettable experience. After tracking, time permitting go for a nature walk through the forest or pay a visit to the local communities. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/ Engagi Lodge/ Buhoma Homestead/ Bwindi View Bandas.

Day 5: Hiking in Bwindi Forest/ Transfer to Kampala
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park also offers a number of other hikes. After having your break fast, take a morning forest hike in Bwindi. Return to Kampala passing through the beautiful countryside of Western Uganda with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch.
